Clementine's Story
_edited_edited.jpg)
In 1929 Floyd and Clementine Cruze took their family and moved from South Knoxville to a farm in East Knox County. There was no electricity or indoor plumbing, and water was carried from the spring house, which still stands today.
Clementine loved flowers and the whole farm showed her handiwork. She planted jonquils, daffodils, peonies, iris, a zinnia garden, roses, tiger lilies, and hydrangea bushes. The entire farm was her garden.
Clemie liked to cook and was very good! She made biscuits with red gravy, fried chicken, and cornbread and was known for her coconut pie. On Sundays, she would cook her very best food. Persimmon pudding, beef stew, and of course her blackberry pies that her family loved.
In addition to her flower gardens, Clementine had a vegetable garden. She raised Chickens and geese. She grew flowers that she took to market every spring and summer. Floyd sold her eggs on his milk route. He also prepared the strawberry patch for her, and she grew the strawberries and sold them at market, along with her beautiful crochet work and embroidery.
Today, Clementine’s granddaughters and great-granddaughters brought the farm back to life with the remnants of her heirloom flowers and renewing her legacy with the beautiful flowers of today.

Meet Clementine's Family

Welcome to Clementine's Flower Farm! I'm Mandy, the owner and proud descendant of a long line of farmers from Claiborne County. Farming has been a part of my family for generations and when I married my husband Eldon in 2001 and learned about his family's farming legacy in Knox county, I knew we had to carry on the tradition. The moment Eldon first showed me around the farm, I knew I was in love with everything - the fields, the woods, and most of all, the flowers.
At Clementine's Flower Farm, we specialize in growing beautiful flowers that will brighten up any occasion. As the owner, I am proud to continue my family's tradition of farming and cultivating flowers. The farm sits on a beautiful piece of land in North East Knox County, where we are surrounded by beautiful woodlands, rolling pastures, and a natural spring. We grow a variety of flowers, including Ranunculus, dahlias, and sunflowers, among others. We take great pride in what we do, and it shows in the quality of our flowers and our loyal customers.
